Ingredients:
1 cup shallots
1 tomato, chopped
3-4 dry red chillies
small gooseberry sized tamarind
salt to taste
1 tsp mustard seeds
3/4 tsp urad dal
1 sprig curry leaves
3 tbsp oil
Preparation:
- Grind together shallots, tomato, dry red chillies, tamarind and salt to a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds. Add urad dal, curry leaves and the ground paste and cook on medium flame until the mixture oozes out oil.
- Serve this chutney with idli, dosa, kuzhi paniyaram etc…
