Chocolate Pancakes

Ingredients:

1 cup plain flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar
1 large egg
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 cup milk

Preparation:

  1. Sift together plain flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda and salt in a bowl and keep it aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add egg and whisk / beat well. Add melted butter into this and whisk.
  3. Then add the milk and mix well.
  4. Now add the sifted flour mixture and using a whisk mix well to a smooth batter without any lumps.
  5. Heat a frying pan or griddle over medium heat and lightly brush the pan with melted butter /oil or cooking spray.
  6. Pour about 1/4 cup of prepared batter onto the hot pan using a small ladle.
  7. When bubbles starts to appear on the surface of the pancake (2-3 minutes), flip over and cook it for 1-2 minutes on the other side.
  8. Repeat with remaining batter, brushing the pan with melted butter or oil.
  9. Transfer to a serving plate and dust it with icing sugar or top with whipped cream / chocolate sauce and serve..
