Ingredients:
125 gm unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/2 cup caster sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1 2/3 cups plain flour
cooking chocolate, for dipping
coloured sprinkles / sugar strands
Preparation:
- In a large bowl, add butter and sugar and beat with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla essence into this and beat until combined.
- Add the flour and mix / beat on low speed until the dough comes together. Then mix using your hand and knead until smooth dough.
- Divide the dough into 2 balls and place each dough in a cling film and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 180 degree celcius. Line baking sheet with parchment paper/ baking paper.
- Roll out the dough between 2 sheets of baking paper / parchment paper using a rolling pin.
- Cut out cookies with a heart-shaped cookie cutter and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake them in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool completely.
- Melt the chocolate in a microwave or by double boiling method.
- Dip half of each cooled cookie into melted chocolate.
