Ambazhanga Sambaram / Hog Plum Spiced Buttermilk


5-6 hog plums / ambazhanga
small piece ginger
1-2 shallots
1 green chilli
1 tbsp curry leaves, chopped
2 small sprig coriander leaves
salt to taste


  1. Chop the hog plums into pieces.
  2. In a blender, add the chopped hog plums, green chilli, shallots, ginger, curry leaves and salt and blend well adding 1 cup of water.
  3. Add coriander leaves and blend it again.
  4. Strain it and pour into serving glass, garnish with coriander leaves and curry leaves and serve as a refreshing drink with ice cubes….
