Muringayila Uttappam / Drumstick Leaves Uthappam


2 cups thick dosa batter
1/2 cup drumstick leaves / muringayila, cleaned
3 shallots, chopped
1 green chilli, finely chopped
salt to taste
oil, as required


  1. In a bowl, add chopped shallots, green chilli, drumstick leaves  and mix well adding little salt. Keep it aside.
  2. Heat a pan at medium flame and grease little oil.
  3. Pour a ladleful of batter and when holes starts to appear add drumstick leaves mix as topping and gently press it with spatula.
  4. Drizzle a tsp of oil all over and around the uthappam. Once the base is golden brown , turn over and cook the other side.
  5. Remove from the pan and serve hot with chutney or sambar…
