Ingredients:
1/2 kg prawns, cleaned
22-25 shallots, sliced
10 garlic cloves, chopped
1″ piece ginger, chopped
1 medium tomato, chopped
1 tbsp + 2 tbsp kashmiri chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp lime juice / vinegar
1/2 tsp crushed pepper
1/4 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
2 sprigs curry leaves
salt to taste
4-5 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation:
- Clean the prawns and marinate it with 1 tbsp kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and lime juice / vinegar and keep it aside for 1/2 an hour.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the marinated prawns at medium flame on both sides. Keep it aside.
- In the same oil, add mustard seeds. When it splutters, add chopped garlic and ginger and saute.
- Add sliced shallots and saute well adding little salt till golden brown.
- Add 2 tbsp kashmiri chilli powder and saute for a minute till raw smell goes.
- Add chopped tomato and mix well. Add 1/2 cup of hot water, mix well and cook for 3 minutes.
- Add fried prawns, curry leaves, crushed pepper and garam masala and mix well and cook covered at medium flame for 3 minutes.
- Open the lid and mix well till the water dries. Switch off the flame and serve hot..
