2 cups thick dosa batter
1 tbsp rava / semolina
1 tbsp rice flour
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp ginger, finely chopped
2 green chillies, finely chopped
2 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
1 small sprig curry leaves, finely chopped
1/2 tsp crushed pepper
a pinch of baking soda
salt to taste
oil, for frying


  1. In a bowl, take the dosa batter and add rava, rice flour, cumin seeds, chopped onion, ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves, curry leaves, crushed pepper, baking soda and salt and mix gently until combined. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a deep frying pan on medium flame and drop a spoonful of batter carefully into the hot oil.
  3. Fry them on both sides for 6-8 minutes till golden and crisp.
  4. Remove from the oil and drain them onto paper towel. Fry them in batches..Serve hot with chutney…
