Ingredients:
1/2 kg beef, cut into strips
1/2 tsp + 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
2 1/2 tbsp kashmiri chilli powder
1 1/2 tbsp cornflour
1 tbsp rice flour
1 1/2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1 1/2 tbsp + 1 tsp chilli flakes
1/2 tbsp fennel seeds, slightly crushed
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/4-1/2 tsp pepper powder
2 tbsp lemon juice
salt to taste
3 sprig curry leaves
4 green chillies, slit
1 tsp + 2 tbsp coconut oil
oil, for frying
2 garlic cloves, sliced
4 shallots
thinly sliced pappadam, fried
Preparation:
- In a pressure cooker, add cleaned beef strips, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and salt and mix well. Add 2-3 tbsp water and cook for 3 whistles at high flame.
- In a bowl, add kashmiri chilli powder, cornflour, rice flour, ginger-garlic paste, 1 1/2 tbsp chilli flakes, crushed fennel seeds, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, garam masala, pepper powder, salt, lemon juice, 1 tsp coconut oil and 2 tbsp cooked beef stock and mix well.
- Add the cooked beef strips into this and marinate well and keep it aside for 1/2 an hour.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry them at medium flame in batches until browned and crispy.
- Then add curry leaves and slit green chillies and fry and remove it from the oil.
- Heat 2 tbsp coconut oil in a pan and add sliced garlic and shallots and saute well.
- Add curry leaves and 1 tsp chilli flakes and saute.
- Add the fried beef, green chillies and curry leaves to this and mix well for 1-2 minutes. Switch off the flame.
- Garnish with fried pappadam strips and serve hot…
