Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup plain flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup + 2 tbsp sugar
56 gm (4 tbsp) unsalted butter, melted
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
For Chocolate Glaze:
3/4 cup icing sugar
1 1/4 tbsp ( 10 gm ) cocoa powder
1 1/2-2 tbsp milk
1/4 tsp vanilla essence
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degree celcius and lightly grease the donut pan and keep it aside. .
- Add plain flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a small bowl and combine well.
- In another bowl, whisk the buttermilk, sugar, melted butter, egg and vanilla essence until well combined.
- Then add the dry ingredients (step 2) into this wet mixture and gently fold until just combined. Don’t over mix.
- Add the mini chocolate chips and fold until just combined.
- Fill about 2/3 full of batter into the prepared doughnut pan using a spoon or a piping bag.
- Then bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until done.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes in the pan and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
For Chocolate Glaze:
- In a small bowl, add icing sugar, cocoa powder, milk and vanilla essence and whisk well until smooth.
- Then immediately dip the cooled donuts in chocolate glaze and top with chocolate sprinkles / mini chocolate chips…Keep it aside for the glaze to set…
