Chemmeen Kanthari Fry / Bird’s Eye Chilli Prawns Fry

Ingredients:

15-20 prawns / 250 gm prawns, cleaned
1 1/2 tsp garlic, crushed
1 1/2 tsp ginger, crushed
15-20 kanthari mulaku / bird’s eye chillies (add to your taste)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp pepper powder (optional)
salt to taste
1 1/2 tsp cornflour
1 sprig curry leaves
oil, as required

Preparation:

  1. In a bowl, add cleaned prawns, crushed ginger, garlic, bird’s eye chillies / kanthari , turmeric powder, pepper powder , salt and cornflour and marinate well and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Heat little oil in a pan and add curry leaves.
  3. Then add the marinated prawns and shallow fry on medium flame until done…Serve hot with rice…
