Orange Loaf


2 3/4 cup (350 gm) plain flour
1 tbsp baking powder
3 small eggs
1 cup sugar
80 ml oil
160 ml milk
160 ml freshly squeezed orange juice ( from 2 medium orange)
grated zest of 1 orange
1 tsp vanilla essence
powdered sugar, for dusting


  1. Preheat the oven to 160 degree celcius. Grease a loaf pan with butter or spray with cooking spray (or line with baking paper).
  2. Sift together plain flour and baking powder in a bowl and keep it aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add eggs and sugar and beat well until creamy.
  4. Then gradually add oil, milk and orange juice and mix well.
  5. Add orange zest and vanilla essence and mix until well combined.
  6. Then slowly add in flour mixture and gently mix until just combined.
  7. Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly with a spatula.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes or until the toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean. Then allow it cool completely…
  9. Before serving, dust the loaf with powdered sugar and then slice the loaf and serve…
