Beef Masala / Filling For Snacks (Erachi Pandam)

Ingredients:

1/2 kg boneless beef pieces

1 tsp chilli powder

1/2 tsp pepper powder

3/4 tsp garam masala

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1 sprig curry leaves

3-4 green chillies, finely chopped

1/2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

5 big onions, chopped / thinly sliced

1 tsp fennel powder

salt to taste

3 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped

4 tbsp oil

Preparation:

  1. In a pressure cooker, add washed and drained beef pieces, chilli powder, pepper powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala and salt and mix well and cook without adding water.
  2. When the pressure releases, open the cooker and and if there is any remaining water inside, cook till all the water dries up. Then crush / shred the cooked beef pieces and keep it aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add chopped curry leaves, green chillies and ginger-garlic paste and saute well.
  4. Add chopped onions, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, fennel powder, 1/4 tsp garam masala and salt and saute well till soft and lightly brown in colour.
  5. Then add the crushed / shredded beef, mix well and cook for another 4-5 minutes on medium flame. Check for salt and add more salt or spice if needed.
  6. Add chopped coriander leaves, mix well and switch off the flame.
