Beef Bonda

Ingredients:

200 gm beef pieces

3 big potatoes

2 onions, finely chopped

2 green chillies, finely chopped

1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

1 sprig curry leaves, chopped

2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped

3/4 tsp + 3/4 tsp chilli powder

1/4 tsp + 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp beef masala powder

1/4 tsp garam masala

1/4 tsp + 3/4 tsp pepper powder

1 cup plain flour

1/2 cup gram flour

salt to taste

oil, as required

Preparation:

  1. Clean and cut the beef into small pieces and pressure cook adding 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/4 tsp pepper powder, salt and about 1/2 cup of water. Then shred /mince the cooked beef pieces and keep it aside.
  2. Cook the potatoes, mash it well and keep it aside.
  3. Heat 1 1/2 tbsp oil in a pan and add chopped onions and saute well.
  4. Add chopped green chillies, ginger-garlic paste and curry leaves and saute well.
  5. Add 3/4 tsp chilli powder, beef masala powder, garam masala, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and salt and mix well till raw smell goes.
  6. Add minced beef into this, mix well and cook covered at low flame for 3-4 minutes.
  7. Then add mashed potatoes and mix well. Adjust the salt and add chopped coriander leaves.
  8. Switch off the flame and allow it to cool and then make small balls. Keep it aside.
  9. In a bowl, mix plain flour, gram flour, 3/4 tsp chilli powder, 3/4 tsp pepper powder and salt and mix well.
  10. Add required water little by little to make a smooth thick batter.
  11. Heat oil in a deep pan. Dip each prepared ball in batter and carefully drop into hot oil.
  12. Fry it on medium flame till all sides are golden brown. 
  13. Remove it from the oil and drain them on a paper towel….Serve with tea..
