Parippu Kuthi Kachiyathu / Dal Curry

Ingredients:

3/4 cup masoor dal
2 green chillies, slit
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
salt to taste
4 garlic cloves
6-8 shallots
1 tsp chilli flakes / crushed red chillies
1 sprig curry leaves
1 1/2 tbsp coconut oil

Preparation:

  1. Wash the masoor dal and cook it adding green chillies, turmeric powder, salt and enough water. Don’t overcook the dal.
  2. Crush garlic cloves and shallots together and keep it aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add crushed mixture and curry leaves and saute well.
  4. Add chilli flakes into this and saute well.
  5. Now add cooked dal with gravy and mix well and boil well for 4-5 minutes.
