Sweet Potato Chips

Ingredients:

1 large sweet potato
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp salt (as required)
oil for frying

Preparation:

  1. Wash, peel and slice the sweet potato into thin round pieces and keep it aside.
  2. In a small bowl, mix turmeric powder and salt  in 2-3 tbsp of water.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan and add the sliced sweet potato in batches and fry it on medium flame, stirring occasionally so that the chips are evenly cooked.
  4. When the chips are almost done, reduce the heat and sprinkle salt water into the oil carefully. (Cover it with a lid immediately to prevent splashing).
  5. Then fry for another 2-3 minutes until it becomes golden and crispy.
  6. Remove it from the oil and drain them on a paper towel and let it cool. Store in an air tight container.
