Ingredients:
1/2 cup chana dal / kadalaparippu
1 cup corn kernels
1 tsp ginger, finely chopped
3 green chillies, finely chopped
2 tbsp onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp fennel seeds
1 sprig curry leaves, chopped
2-3 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
salt to taste
oil for frying
Preparation:
- Wash and soak dal in water for 3-4 hours.
- Drain the water from soaked dal and grind it along with corn kernels into a coarse paste.
- Transfer to a bowl and add chopped green chillies, onion, ginger, curry leaves, coriander leaves, fennel seeds and salt and mix well with your hand.
- If the mixture is not thick, add 2-3 tbsp gram flour and mix well.
- Make small balls out of the mixture and flatten them with your palms.
- Heat oil in a pan and drop the prepared parippuvadas gently to the hot oil and deep fry them on medium flame till they turn golden brown and crispy.
