Ingredients:
150 gm bajji mulaku / bajji chilli / banana pepper, chopped
lemon sized tamarind
1/2-3/4 tbsp kashmiri chilli powder
3/4 cup jaggery powder
salt to taste
1 1/2 tbsp plain flour
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp mustard seeds
3 dry red chillies
1 sprig curry leaves
2 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation:
- Soak lemon sized tamarind in 2 1/2 cup of water, extract its juice and keep it aside.
- Heat coconut oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
- Add dry red chillies, curry leaves and chopped chillies and saute well till it turns tender.
- Add tamarind water, kashmiri chilli powder, jaggery powder and salt and boil well at medium flame.
- In a bowl, mix plain flour with 3 tbsp of water. Add this to the curry and mix well and boil well.
- Finally add soy sauce and mix well. Switch off the flame and serve with rice, thayir sadam etc...
- Can also prepare without adding soy sauce...
