Baked Spaghetti Bolognese

Ingredients:


400 gm spaghetti

500 gm minced meat ( I used minced chicken )

4 garlic cloves, finely chopped

1 onion, finely chopped

500 gm jar tomato pasta sauce

1/2 cup mushroom, chopped

1 tsp chilli powder / paprika powder

1 tsp Italian seasoning / herb mix

1 tsp oregano

salt to taste

8-10 cheese slices, or as required

1 cup grated mozzarella cheese, or as required

1/4-1/2 tsp chilli flakes

2 tbsp olive oil


Preparation:


  1. Boil water in a large pan adding a tsp of oil and 1/2 tsp salt. Add spaghetti to this and cook till done. Strain in colander, rinse under cold running water and drain thoroughly. Keep it aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan and add chopped garlic and saute.
  3. Add chopped onion and saute well for 2 minutes.
  4. Add minced meat and cook, breaking up lumps with a wooden spoon for 5 minutes or until browned and cooked.
  5. Add pasta tomato sauce, chopped mushroom, chilli powder, oregano, Italian seasoning / herb mix and salt and mix well and cook at low flame until sauce thickens.
  6. Add grated cheese into this and stir well.
  7. Then add the drained spaghetti and mix well till the sauce is well coated with spaghetti.
  8. Preheat the oven to 180 degree celcius.
  9. Transfer the prepared spaghetti mix into a baking dish and place the cheese slices on top.
  10. Then top it with grated cheese, little oregano and chilli flakes and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or till golden in colour.
