Beef Bonda

Ingredients:
200 gm beef pieces
3 big potatoes
2 onions, finely chopped
2 green chillies, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 sprig curry leaves, chopped
2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
3/4 tsp + 3/4 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp + 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp beef masala powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp + 3/4 tsp pepper powder
1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup gram flour
salt to taste
oil, as required
Preparation:
- Clean and cut the beef into small pieces and pressure cook adding 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/4 tsp pepper powder, salt and about 1/2 cup of water. Then shred /mince the cooked beef pieces and keep it aside.
- Cook the potatoes, mash it well and keep it aside.
- Heat 1 1/2 tbsp oil in a pan and add chopped onions and saute well.
- Add chopped green chillies, ginger-garlic paste and curry leaves and saute well.
- Add 3/4 tsp chilli powder, beef masala powder, garam masala, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and salt and mix well till raw smell goes.
- Add minced beef into this, mix well and cook covered at low flame for 3-4 minutes.
- Then add mashed potatoes and mix well. Adjust the salt and add chopped coriander leaves.
- Switch off the flame and allow it to cool and then make small balls. Keep it aside.
- In a bowl, mix plain flour, gram flour, 3/4 tsp chilli powder, 3/4 tsp pepper powder and salt and mix well.
- Add required water little by little to make a smooth thick batter.
- Heat oil in a deep pan. Dip each prepared ball in batter and carefully drop into hot oil.
- Fry it on medium flame till all sides are golden brown.
- Remove it from the oil and drain them on a paper towel….Serve with tea..
