Ingredients:


350-400 gm boneless chicken, cut into small pieces

1 big onion, sliced

1 beetroot, peeled and sliced

1 big tomato, chopped

7-8 garlic cloves

8-10 cashew nuts

1 tbsp + 1 tbsp kashmiri chilli powder

1 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

salt to taste

1 tsp cumin powder

1 tbsp kasuri methi, crushed

1/2 cup fresh cream

4-5 tbsp butter

1 tbsp oil

1 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped


Preparation:


  1. Heat 2-3 tbsp butter and oil in a pan and add sliced onion and beetroot and saute.
  2. Add chopped tomato, garlic and cashew nuts and saute for 5 minutes.
  3. Add 1 tbsp chilli powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and salt and mix well for a minute.
  4. Switch off the flame and let the mixture to cool and then grind to a smooth paste adding enough water and keep it aside.
  5. Heat 2 tbsp butter in the same pan and add cleaned chicken pieces, 1 tbsp chilli powder, 1 tsp turmeric powder and salt and fry it for 5 minutes.
  6. Then add the ground beetroot paste and cook at low flame till the chicken gets cooked completely.
  7. Add crushed kasuri methi and mix well.
  8. Add fresh cream and cumin powder into this and simmer for another 4-5 minutes.
  9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and remove from flame. Serve hot..
