Ingredients:
1 litre milk
3/4-1 cup sugar
1/2 cup payasam rice/ unakkalari/ red rice
2 carrots, sliced
3 cardamoms
Preparation:
- In a pressure cooker, add washed rice, milk and sugar and mix well and cook on low flame for 1 whistle. Switch off the flame.
- In a pan, add sliced carrots and cardamoms and cook it adding enough water until soft.
- Transfer it to a blender and grind to a smooth paste adding 2-3 tbsp milk and keep it aside.
- Once the pressure releases, open the cooker and add the carrot paste and mix well.
