Ingredients:


1 litre milk

3/4-1 cup sugar

1/2 cup payasam rice/ unakkalari/ red rice

2 carrots, sliced

3 cardamoms


Preparation:


  1. In a pressure cooker, add washed rice, milk and sugar and mix well and cook on low flame for 1 whistle. Switch off the flame.
  2. In a pan, add sliced carrots and cardamoms and cook it adding enough water until soft.
  3. Transfer it to a blender and grind to a smooth paste adding 2-3 tbsp milk and keep it aside.
  4. Once the pressure releases, open the cooker and add the carrot paste and mix well.
  5. Then cook on medium flame until it start boiling and switch off the flame. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes and then serve...
