Chocolate Chip Anzac Slices

Ingredients:

1 cup rolled oats

1 cup plain flour

2/3 cup brown sugar

2/3 cup desiccated coconut

125 gm butter, chopped

2 tbsp golden syrup

2 tbsp water

1/2 tsp baking soda

150 gm chocolate chips

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 150 degree celcius. Grease and line a rectangular baking tray with baking paper and keep it aside.
  2. Place the butter, golden syrup and water in a microwave safe large bowl and microwave in 30 second bursts, stirring each time, until melted.
  3. Then stir in the baking soda.
  4. Add the rolled oats, plain flour, brown sugar and desiccated coconut into this and stir to combine.
  5. Then fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Transfer the mixture into the baking tray and press down firmly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
  8. Remove the tray from oven and cool for 10 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack and let them cool completely. Then carefully cut into slices and serve...
