Ingredients:
2 big bitter gourd / pavakka
1 tbsp kashmiri chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 1/2 tbsp plain flour
1 1/2 tbsp rice flour
1/2 tsp garlic paste
1/2 tsp ginger paste
salt
oil, for frying
Preparation:
- Wash and slice pavakka / bitter gourd into thin rounds.
- In a bowl, add the sliced bitter gourd and salt and mix well with hand and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
- Then squeeze the bitter gourd pieces and discard the water. ( This step is to remove the bitterness of bitter gourd ).
- In a bowl, add turmeric powder, kashmiri chilli powder, plain flour, rice flour, garlic paste, ginger paste and salt and mix well adding little water to a thick batter.
- Add the bitter gourd pieces and coat well with the batter.
- Heat oil in a pan and deep fry them till golden and crispy.
- Remove it from the oil and drain them on a paper towel. Serve with rice...
