Crispy Butterflied Chicken Drumsticks with Hot Honey Sauce

Ingredients:
1 kg chicken drumsticks, butterflied
2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp ginger powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
3 tbsp olive oil
salt to taste
1 cup plain flour
1/2 tsp pepper powder
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cup bread crumbs, as required
1-1 1/2 tbsp white sesame seeds
For Hot Honey Sauce:
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp garlic, finely chopped
2 tbsp tomato sauce
1-2 tbsp hot sauce / sriracha sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
2-3 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp chilli powder
Preparation:
- Add chicken in a large mixing bowl and mix with 2 tsp chilli powder, ginger powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and olive oil till well coated and keep it for marination in the refrigerator for 2-4 hours.
- In a plate, add plain flour and season with pepper powder and salt.
- Dip each marinated chicken piece in the flour mix, then in beaten eggs and coat in bread crumbs and press well until evenly coated.
- Air fry the chicken at 180 degree celcius for 22-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
- To prepare the hot honey sauce, melt butter in a pan and add chopped garlic and saute.
- Add tomato sauce, hot sauce, soy sauce, honey and 1/2 tsp chilli powder and mix well and bring to a gentle boil.
- Then simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add the crispy chicken to the sauce and toss until evenly coated.
- Sprinkle white sesame seeds on top and serve hot...
