Mutta Ulli Vada / Egg Onion Pakoda

Ingredients:


4 boiled eggs, cut each into half

4 onions, thinly sliced

2 green chillies, chopped

1 tsp ginger, chopped

1 sprig curry leaves, chopped

1/2 tsp asafoetida

2 cups gram flour / besan / kadala mavu

1 1/2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

salt to taste

oil, for frying


Preparation:


  1. In a mixing bowl, add sliced onions, chopped green chillies, ginger, curry leaves, salt and asafoetida and mix well with hand.
  2. Then add gram flour, kashmiri chilli powder and turmeric powder and mix well adding little water.
  3. Take some onion mixture and flatten it and place a piece of egg and cover the egg completely with little onion mixture and shape into balls.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry them until it turns golden brown on all sides at medium flame.
  5. Remove from the oil and drain them on a paper towel....Serve with tea or coffee....
