Ingredients:
3/4 kg ripe plantains/ kerala bananas ( nendrapazham)
3/4 cup plain flour
1/4 cup rice flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
1/4-1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp salt
2-3 tsp sesame seeds
oil, for frying
Preparation:
- Peel and slice bananas lengthwise and keep it aside.
- In a bowl, add plain flour, rice flour, baking powder, sugar, turmeric powder, sesame seeds and salt and mix well.
- Add enough water and mix well to make a smooth thick batter.
- Heat oil in a pan. Dip each banana pieces in the batter, coat well and deep fry them in hot oil on both sides till cooked and golden.
- Drain and transfer to a kitchen tissue...Serve hot as a snack....
