Ingredients:
2 pita bread, cut into pieces
1 cup white chickpeas
1/2 tsp + 1/4 tsp cumin powder
salt to taste
1 cup yogurt
1/4 cup tahini paste
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp garlic paste
2-3 tbsp pine nuts
oil, as required
Preparation:
- Soak the chickpeas in water for 4-6 hours.
- In a pressure cooker, add chickpeas and cook it adding salt and enough water. Once cooked, add 1/2 tsp cumin powder and cook it for another 10 minutes.
- Heat little oil in a pan and add pita bread pieces and fry until golden and crispy and keep it aside.
- In a bowl, add yogurt, tahini paste, 1/4 tsp cumin powder, garlic paste, lemon juice and salt and mix well until combined.
- In a serving plate, place the fried bread pieces. Then add the cooked chickpeas along with some chickpea stock.
- Add the yogurt-tahini sauce and spread over top.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil / butter in a pan and fry pine nuts until golden and pour it over.
- Garnish with paprika or cumin powder and some fried pita bread..
