Ingredients:


1/2 kg fish, cleaned

1 small raw mango / pacha manga, chopped

1 cup grated coconut

1 tbsp + 1/2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder

1 tsp turmeric powder

2 green chillies, slit

salt to taste

1 tbsp coconut oil

5-6 shallots, sliced

1 sprig curry leaves


Preparation:


  1. Cut the fish into pieces, clean it and keep it aside.
  2. Grind grated coconut with kashmiri chilli powder and turmeric powder to a smooth paste adding 3/4 cup of water.
  3. Transfer this ground paste to a manchatti / clay pot and add chopped raw mango, slit green chillies and 1 cup of water and cover and cook.
  4. When it starts to boil, add cleaned fish pieces and salt and mix well and cook covered for 7-10 minutes.
  5. Heat coconut oil in a pan and add curry leaves and shallots and saute till brown.
  6. Switch off the flame and add 1/2 tsp chilli powder and mix well.
  7. Pour this tempering over the curry and mix well. Serve hot...
