Ingredients:


1 1/2 cup plain flour

3/4 cup sugar

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1 tbsp cocoa powder

1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla essence


Preparation:


  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder and keep it aside.
  2. In another large bowl, add the butter and sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla essence and mix until combined.
  4. Then gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  5. Divide about one-third of the dough into a separate bowl and mix the cocoa powder until a chocolate dough forms.
  6. Let both dough chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
  7. Roll the dough into small evenly sized balls and arrange them on a baking tray lined with baking paper into the football pattern as shown below..

8.Gently press the shape together and use a round cookie cutter to get the circle shape.

9.Chill the finished cookies in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

10.Preheat the oven to 180 degree celcius.

11.Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.

12.Remove from the oven and cool the cookies on the tray for 5 minutes. Then gently transfer to a wire rack to cool completely...
