Ingredients:
3 big green tomatoes / pacha thakkali
1/2 cup grated coconut
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
3 shallots
1 garlic clove
1 onion, chopped
2 green chillies, chopped
2 sprig curry leaves
salt to taste
1 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
3 tsp oil
Preparation:
- Wash and chop green tomatoes into medium sized pieces.
- In a blender, add the grated coconut, shallots, garlic and cumin seeds and blend together to a coarse paste.
- Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan and add chopped onion, green chillies and curry leaves and saute for a minute.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes.
- Then sprinkle little water and salt and cook covered till the tomatoes become little soft.
- Add chilli powder, turmeric powder and the ground paste and mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes till the raw smell goes.
- Check the salt and add if needed. Sprinkle some curry leaves and add 1 tsp coconut oil and switch off the flame. Serve with rice...
