Ingredients:
2 green tomatoes
5-6 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp pepper corns
1 tsp asafoetida
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
small lemon sized tamarind, soaked in 1/2 cup of water
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
salt to taste
2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
2 dry red chillies
1 sprig curry leaves
1 tbsp oil
Preparation:
- In a blender, add chopped tomato, garlic, pepper corns, cumin seeds, asafoetida, turmeric powder, tamarind and grind well adding tamarind water and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds and add dry red chillies and curry leaves.
- Then pour the ground paste, enough water and salt and mix well.
- Add chopped coriander leaves into this and boil well on medium flame.
- Switch off the flame and serve as a side dish for rice...
