Ingredients:


2 green tomatoes

5-6 garlic cloves

1/2 tsp pepper corns

1 tsp asafoetida

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

small lemon sized tamarind, soaked in 1/2 cup of water

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

salt to taste

2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped

1/2 tsp mustard seeds

2 dry red chillies

1 sprig curry leaves

1 tbsp oil


Preparation:


  1. In a blender, add chopped tomato, garlic, pepper corns, cumin seeds, asafoetida, turmeric powder, tamarind and grind well adding tamarind water and keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds and add dry red chillies and curry leaves.
  3. Then pour the ground paste, enough water and salt and mix well.
  4. Add chopped coriander leaves into this and boil well on medium flame.
  5. Switch off the flame and serve as a side dish for rice...
