Ingredients:
1 cup milk powder
3 tbsp plain flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp corn flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 cup sugar
3 cup water
1/4-1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1/2 tsp lemon juice
oil for frying
Preparation:
- Mix plain flour and baking powder in a small bowl.
- In a mixing bowl, add milk powder, plain flour mix, corn flour and baking soda and mix well.
- Add 4 tbsp water little by little and mix well. Then knead it with your fingers. The dough will be sticky.
- Grease little oil in your hand and knead it again till soft.
- In a thick bottomed pan, add sugar and 3 cups of water.
- Add cardamom powder and lemon juice and boil well. Transfer this to a large bowl.
- Heat oil in a pan at medium flame. Grease hand with little oil and make small smooth balls out of dough without any cracks.
- Add the balls gently and fry them on low flame till golden brown.
- Add this to the prepared sugar syrup and keep it covered for 1/2 an hour. Serve them in bowls..
