Kallummakaya / Mussels Roast

Ingredients:
1/2 kg mussels / kallummakaya
2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tbsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp fennel powder
1/2 tsp + 1/2 tsp pepper powder
2 sprig curry leaves
1 onion, sliced
1/2 cup shallots, sliced
3 green chillies, chopped
2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
1/4 tsp fenugreek powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
1 tomato, chopped
salt to taste
coconut oil, as required
Preparation:
- Clean the mussels and marinate with chilli powder, turmeric powder, ginger- garlic paste, 1/2 tsp pepper powder, fennel powder and salt and keep it aside for 1 hour.
- Heat 2 tbsp coconut oil in a pan and add 1 sprig curry leaves and marinated mussels and fry them and keep it aside.
- In the same pan, add little more oil and add sliced onion and shallots and fry till golden brown.
- Add coriander leaves, 1 sprig curry leaves and chopped green chillies and saute well.
- Then reduce the flame to low and add fenugreek powder, 1/2 tsp pepper powder and garam masala and mix well.
- Add chopped tomato and saute well till soft and cooked.
- Add fried mussels into this and mix well. Adjust the salt and cook at low flame for 5 minutes.
- Remove from the flame and serve hot...
