Ingredients:
2 cups tapioca, peeled and chopped
1 cup + 4-4 tbsp grated coconut
3 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 big green chilli
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
salt to taste
1 tsp mustard seeds
3-4 dry red chillies
1 sprig curry leaves
1 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation:
- Peel and cut the tapioca into small cubes.
- Grind 1 cup grated coconut, garlic, cumin seeds, green chilli and turmeric powder together to a coarse mixture adding little water.
- Cook the tapioca pieces in enough water adding little salt. Drain the water and transfer to a pan.
- Add the ground coconut mixture, little water and salt and mash it well using wooden spatula.
- Add 1/2-1 cup hot water, mix well and boil well till the raw smell goes and cooked well. Switch off the flame.
- Heat oil in a small pan and splutter mustard seeds.
- Add dry red chillies, curry leaves and 4-5 tbsp grated coconut and fry till coconut turns golden in colour.
- Switch off the flame and add this tempering to the erissery. Mix well and serve hot with rice..
