Ingredients:
4 raw banana / pachakaya/ kaya
2 cup gram flour / kadalamavu
1/2 cup rice flour
3 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
3/4 tsp asafoetida
salt to taste
2 pinch of baking soda
oil for frying
Preparation:
- Peel and thinly slice the raw bananas using a slicer or knife.
- In a mixing bowl, add gram flour, rice flour, chilli powder, asafoetida and salt and mix well using a whisk.
- Add required water little by little and mix well to make a smooth batter using a whisk.
- Add baking soda to this and mix well.
- Heat oil in a pan for frying.
- Dip the banana slices in the batter and coat well with batter on both sides.
- Then carefully drop in the hot oil and fry them in batches at medium flame until it turns golden brown colour on both sides.
- Remove from the oil and drain them on a paper towel....Serve with tea or coffee....
