Ingredients:


4 raw banana / pachakaya/ kaya

2 cup gram flour / kadalamavu

1/2 cup rice flour

3 tsp kashmiri chilli powder

3/4 tsp asafoetida

salt to taste

2 pinch of baking soda

oil for frying


Preparation:


  1. Peel and thinly slice the raw bananas using a slicer or knife.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add gram flour, rice flour, chilli powder, asafoetida and salt and mix well using a whisk.
  3. Add required water little by little and mix well to make a smooth batter using a whisk.
  4. Add baking soda to this and mix well.
  5. Heat oil in a pan for frying.
  6. Dip the banana slices in the batter and coat well with batter on both sides.
  7. Then carefully drop in the hot oil and fry them in batches at medium flame until it turns golden brown colour on both sides. 
  8. Remove from the oil and drain them on a paper towel....Serve with tea or coffee....
