Ingredients:


250 gm prawns, cleaned

3 drumsticks, cut into pieces

1 small onion, chopped

3 garlic cloves, chopped

1 small tomato, chopped

2 green chillies, slit

2 small gambooge / kudampuli

2 sprig curry leaves

1 - 1 1/2 tsp chilli powder

1/2 tsp coriander powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1 cup grated coconut

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

salt to taste

1/2 tsp mustard seeds

1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds

5 shallots, sliced

2 tbsp coconut oil


Preparation:


  1. Grind grated coconut with cumin seeds and few curry leaves to a smooth paste adding little water and keep it aside.
  2. In a pan / clay pot, add cleaned prawns, drumsticks, onion, tomato, garlic, green chillies, curry leaves, gambooge, chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt and cook well adding enough water.
  3. Then add ground coconut paste and mix well. Adjust the salt and water and cook at medium flame for 6-8 minutes.
  4. Heat coconut oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds and shallots and fry till brown.
  5. Add this seasoning to the curry and mix well. Serve with rice, pathiri, puttu etc...
