Ingredients:
250 gm prawns, cleaned
3 drumsticks, cut into pieces
1 small onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, chopped
1 small tomato, chopped
2 green chillies, slit
2 small gambooge / kudampuli
2 sprig curry leaves
1 - 1 1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 cup grated coconut
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
salt to taste
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
5 shallots, sliced
2 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation:
- Grind grated coconut with cumin seeds and few curry leaves to a smooth paste adding little water and keep it aside.
- In a pan / clay pot, add cleaned prawns, drumsticks, onion, tomato, garlic, green chillies, curry leaves, gambooge, chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt and cook well adding enough water.
- Then add ground coconut paste and mix well. Adjust the salt and water and cook at medium flame for 6-8 minutes.
- Heat coconut oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds and shallots and fry till brown.
- Add this seasoning to the curry and mix well. Serve with rice, pathiri, puttu etc...
