Ingredients:


3 cups plain flour

1 1/4 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1 large egg

1/4 cup sugar

4-5 drops vanilla essence

1/2 tsp cardamom powder

3/4-1 cup milk

3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

oil, for frying


Preparation:


  1. In a bowl, add plain flour, baking powder and salt and mix well and keep it aside.
  2. In another bowl, add egg, sugar, vanilla essence, cardamom powder and mix well using a whisk.
  3. Add milk and melted butter into this and mix well.
  4. Add the flour mixture and mix until the flour comes together and then knead well for 4-5 minutes until you get a soft dough.
  5. Cover and keep it aside for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Divide the dough into two and shape the dough into a ball.
  7. Roll out the dough into 1/4 inch thick circles and cut into small squares or diamond shapes.
  8. Heat oil in a pan over medium flame and fry them till light golden.
