Masala Batura

Ingredients:

2 cups plain flour

1 tsp instant yeast

1 tbsp sugar

salt to taste

1 tbsp oil

3-4 tbsp carrot, finely chopped

2 green chillies, finely chopped

3 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped

2 tbsp yogurt

1/2 cup warm milk

1/4 cup warm water, or as required

oil, for frying

Preparation:

  1. In a mixing bowl, add plain flour, yeast, sugar, salt and 1 tbsp oil and mix well.
  2. Add chopped carrot, green chillies and coriander leaves and mix well.
  3. Add yogurt into this and mix well.
  4. Then add warm milk and mix well using hand. Add 1/4 cup (or as required) warm water little by little into this and knead well to make a soft dough.
  5. Spread 1 tsp of oil all over the bowl and on dough and keep it covered for 4-5 hours for double quantity.
  6. Then gently knead the dough and make balls out of the dough.
  7. Roll it in a floured surface using a rolling pin and cut into four triangle pieces or any desired shape.
  8. Heat oil in a pan on medium flame and deep fry the batura’s on both sides. Drain on paper towels and serve hot…
