Ingredients:
8-10 big green chillies
1 1/2 cup yogurt / curd
5-6 shallots
3 garlic cloves
small piece ginger
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp pepper corns
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
2 pinch of asafoetida
salt to taste
1 sprig curry leaves
1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
2 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation:
- Wash the green chillies and make lengthwise slit on each of them and keep it aside.
- Crush shallots, garlic, ginger, cumin seeds and pepper corns together and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds.
- Add green chillies, salt and curry leaves and saute well.
- Add turmeric powder and mix well at low flame.
- Add crushed ingredients and mix well till raw smell goes.
- Add coriander leaves and asafoetida and saute well.
- In a bowl, add yogurt and salt and mix well using a whisk.
- Add this beaten yogurt and mix well and switch off the flame. Don't allow to boil.
