mulaku-thairu-curry

Ingredients:


8-10 big green chillies

1 1/2 cup yogurt / curd

5-6 shallots

3 garlic cloves

small piece ginger

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp pepper corns

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped

2 pinch of asafoetida

salt to taste

1 sprig curry leaves

1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds

1/2 tsp mustard seeds

2 tbsp coconut oil


Preparation:


  1. Wash the green chillies and make lengthwise slit on each of them and keep it aside.
  2. Crush shallots, garlic, ginger, cumin seeds and pepper corns together and keep it aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds.
  4. Add green chillies, salt and curry leaves and saute well.
  5. Add turmeric powder and mix well at low flame.
  6. Add crushed ingredients and mix well till raw smell goes.
  7. Add coriander leaves and asafoetida and saute well.
  8. In a bowl, add yogurt and salt and mix well using a whisk.
  9. Add this beaten yogurt and mix well and switch off the flame. Don't allow to boil.
