Ingredients:
1/2 kg mutton, cleaned
1 tbsp ginger paste
1 tbsp garlic paste
2 big onions, finely chopped
2 tomatoes
2 1/2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
3/4 tsp garam masala
1 sprig curry leaves
1/4 cup coriander leaves, chopped
salt to taste
2 tbsp oil
Preparation:
- Cut the mutton into pieces , wash it and drain the water completely and keep it aside. Grind tomatoes into paste and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add ginger paste and garlic paste and saute well till raw smell goes.
- Add chopped onion and saute well till brown colour. Add curry leaves and mix well.
- Then add in the kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and salt and saute well at low flame.
- Add cleaned mutton into this and saute well until the mutton pieces are well coated with the masala and turns brown.
- Now add tomato paste and saute well till oil separates.
- Add 1 1/2 cups of water into this and cook covered at medium flame for about 6-7 whistles or till the mutton is cooked well.
- Once the pressure releases, open the cooker and add chopped coriander leaves and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
- Remove it from the flame and serve hot with pathiri, ghee rice etc...
