Ingredients:

1 cup plain flour

1/4 cup rice flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp salt

1/2 cup yogurt

3/4 cup water , or as required

1 tsp ginger, finely chopped

1-2 green chillies, finely chopped

1 tbsp curry leaves, chopped

2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped

oil for frying

Preparation:

  1. In a mixing bowl, add plain flour, rice flour, baking soda, cumin seeds and salt and mix well.
  2. Add yogurt to this and mix well. Add water little by little and mix well to make a thick batter of dropping consistency.
  3. Add chopped ginger, green chillies, curry leaves and coriander leaves and mix well.
  4. Cover and keep the batter aside for 20 minutes.
  5. Heat oil in a deep frying pan on medium flame and drop about 2 tbsp of batter into the hot oil and deep fry them till golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oil and drain them onto paper towel. Fry them in batches..Serve hot with chutney...
