Ingredients:


250 gm netholi meen / anchovies

2 drumsticks, cut into pieces

3-4 green chillies, slit

4 shallots, sliced

1 small raw mango / pacha manga, peeled and sliced

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp chilli powder

1 1/4 cup grated coconut

3 shallots

1/4 tsp cumin seeds

salt to taste

2 tsp coconut oil

2 sprigs curry leaves


Preparation:


  1. Grind together grated coconut, 3 shallots and cumin seeds to a coarse mixture and keep it aside.
  2. In a clay pot / manchatti, add drumstick, green chillies, 4 sliced shallots, raw mango pieces, curry leaves, turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt and 1 cup of water.
  3. Add cleaned fish and cook covered till the drumsticks and fish are done.
  4. Add ground coconut mixture and cook covered for 3-4 minutes until the raw taste of coconut is gone.
  5. Add coconut oil and few curry leaves and switch off the flame.
