Pavakka - Manga Curry / Bitter Gourd - Mango Curry

Ingredients:
1 bitter gourd / pavakka / kaipakka
2 green chillies, chopped
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 raw mango, peeled and chopped
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 cup grated coconut
salt to taste
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
2 dry red chillies
1 sprig curry leaves
1 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation:
- Chop the bitter gourd into small pieces. Grind the grated coconut to a paste and keep it aside.
- In a pan, add chopped bitter gourd, green chillies, turmeric powder and salt and cook covered adding enough water.
- Add mango pieces, chilli powder and coriander powder into this and cook till done.
- Then add ground coconut paste and mix well and allow to boil well till the raw smell goes. Switch off the flame.
- Heat coconut oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds. Add dry red chillies and curry leaves.
- Pour this over the curry and mix well. Serve hot…
