Potato - Onion Bajji / Pakoda

Ingredients:

1 large potato

1 big onion, sliced

3 green chillies, chopped

1 tbsp ginger, finely chopped

1/4-1/2 cup coriander leaves, chopped

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1 1/2 tsp chilli powder

1/2 tsp garam masala

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1/2 tsp crushed coriander seeds

salt to taste

1/4 tsp asafoetida

1/2 cup gram flour

oil, as required

Preparation:

  1. Peel and grate the potato and squeeze well to remove the excess starch out.
  2. Transfer it to a bowl and add sliced onion, chopped green chillies, ginger, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala, cumin seeds, crushed coriander seeds and salt and mix well with hand.
  3. Then add gram flour and asafoetida and mix well with hand.
  4. Add 1-2 tbsp hot oil into this , mix well with spoon and then mix together with hand.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and take small amount of mixture and flatten and carefully drop into hot oil.
  6. Fry them till it turns golden brown on medium flame.. Remove from flame and serve with sauce…
