Prawns - Drumstick Leaves / Chemmeen Muringayila Mulakittathu

Ingredients:
1/2 kg prawns, cleaned
1 cup muringayila / drumstick leaves
1 tbsp ginger, chopped
1 tbsp garlic, chopped
10-12 shallots, chopped
1 1/2 tbsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2-3 pieces kudampuli
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
1/4 tsp fenugreek powder
2 sprig curry leaves
2-3 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation:
- Soak the gamboge / kudampuli in little water for 15 minutes.
- Heat coconut oil in a manchatti / clay pot and splutter mustard seeds and add fenugreek seeds.
- Add chopped ginger, garlic and shallots and saute well.
- Add chilli powder and turmeric powder and saute well till raw smell goes.
- Add kudampuli and curry leaves and mix well. Add enough hot water and salt and mix well.
- Add cleaned prawns and muringayila and cook covered till done.
- Add few curry leaves, little coconut oil and fenugreek powder and mix well.
- Switch off the flame and serve with rice, pathiri, neer dosa etc...
