Ingredients:


1 1/2 cup rava / semolina

3/4 cup yogurt / curd

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup water

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 green chillies, chopped

2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped

1 sprig curry leaves, chopped

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp cumin seeds

1/4 tsp urad dal

1/2 tsp mustard seeds

oil, as required


Preparation:


  1. In a blender, add rava, yogurt, salt and 1 cup of water and grind well to a fine batter. Transfer the batter to a bowl.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
  3. Add urad dal, cumin seeds, chopped onion and green chillies and saute well.
  4. Add this sautéed mixture and chopped coriander leaves and curry leaves to the batter and mix well.
  5. Add baking soda and mix well. Adjust the salt.
  6. Heat oil in a tadka pan / appam pan / kadai and pour 1 ladle of batter in the centre. Do not spread the batter.
  7. Cook at medium flame till both sides are golden. Flip once or twice if needed.
  8. Serve hot with chutney..
