Ingredients:


3 big ripe plantains / kerala bananas ( nendrapazham )

1 cup plain flour

1/2 cup gram flour

1/4 cup cornflour / rice flour

2 tbsp sugar

1/2 tsp salt

1 green chilli, finely chopped

2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped

1 tbsp curry leaves, chopped

1/2 tsp chilli flakes

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

oil, for frying


Preparation:


  1. Peel and slice bananas lengthwise and keep it aside.
  2. In a bowl, add plain flour, gram flour, cornflour / rice flour, sugar, salt, chopped green chilli, coriander leaves, curry leaves, chilli flakes and turmeric powder and mix well.
  3. Add water as required and mix well to a smooth thick batter.
  4. Add baking soda and mix well.
  5. Heat oil in a pan. Dip each banana pieces in the batter, coat well and deep fry them in hot oil on both sides till cooked and golden.
  6. Drain and transfer to a kitchen tissue...Serve hot as a snack...
