Strawberry Danish Hearts
Delightful Strawberry Danish Hearts featuring flaky puff pastry filled with a creamy, sweet cream cheese mixture and topped with fresh sliced strawberries, baked until golden and dusted with powdered sugar. Perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients:
1-2 puff pastry sheet ( as required)
250 gm cream cheese
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
1 egg, for egg wash
1 tbsp powdered sugar, for dusting
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degree celcius. Line baking sheet with parchment paper / baking paper.
- In a bowl, add cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, egg and vanilla essence and beat well together to a smooth creamy mixture. Keep it aside.
- Cut out the heart shapes as much as possible from the puff pastry sheet using a medium sized heart shaped cookie cutter and place them on the baking sheet..

4.Then place a smaller heart shaped cookie cutter in the middle of each larger heart and gently press to make an indention into the pastry.

5.Spoon or pipe some cream cheese mixture into the smaller heart of each pastry. Don't overfill the hearts with cream cheese mixture.

6.Top it with sliced strawberries and brush the edges of hearts with an egg wash.

7.Sprinkle some sugar on top and bake for 15-18 minutes or until flakey and golden brown in colour.
8.Allow to cool slightly and then sprinkle with icing sugar and serve...
