Ingredients:
3 medium tomatoes, chopped
4 garlic cloves
7-8 dry red chillies
1 sprig curry leaves
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
3 tsp urad dal / uzhunnu
salt to taste
1 tsp mustard seeds
3 tsp coconut oil
Preparation:
- Heat 2 tsp coconut oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and urad dal and saute for a minute.
- Add garlic and 5-6 dry red chillies and saute for 1-2 minutes.
- Add chopped tomatoes, few curry leaves and salt and saute well till soft and cooked.
- Switch off the flame and allow to cool and then grind to a paste adding about 1/2 cup of water.
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds. Add 2 dry red chillies and curry leaves.
