Tomato Upma

Ingredients:
1/2 cup roasted rava / semolina
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger, finely chopped
1-2 green chillies, finely chopped
few curry leaves
1 tomato
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
1 1/2 cup water
1/4 tsp asafoetida
1 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp urad dal
salt to taste
1 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation:
- Grind tomato to a paste and keep it aside.
- Heat coconut oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds and fry urad dal till brown.
- Add onion, ginger, green chillies and curry leaves and saute for 2 minutes adding salt.
- Add turmeric powder, chilli powder and garam masala and mix well.
- Add tomato paste and mix well till all the water dries up.
- Now add 1 1/2 cup of water to this and when it starts to boil , add asafoetida powder and chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
- Add roasted rava slowly and mix well and cook covered at low flame, stirring in between, till all the water has evaporated and cooked.
- Remove it from flame and serve hot…

- 8Remove it from flame and serve hot.
